Career guidance forms an important component of WeRead Foundation. We have found out that thousands of pupils/Students go to school and have no guidance on the choices they would like to adopt for there future. Consequently leading to trauma, anxieties and dropping out of schools. This however, become more serious with girls.
The absence of career guidance at the secondary school levels can be realize from students choices of specializations when they begin university education. In the Republic of South Sudan, studying at the university means studying Medicine, Law and Engineer. Many students have developed negative attitudes towards many study courses such as Agriculture, Education, Rural Development among others and mistakenly call these courses as being for low performing students yet all courses are of great value when in comes to market demand or employment. Provision of career guidance to the students is very crucial in this regard
